HVAC

Maintaining your air conditioning unit is a lot like keeping up with your car. Just as your car needs routine service, your AC requires service to maintain optimal performance.

If you notice a problem with your air conditioner, don't ignore it. Just as ignoring engine problems in your car could end up costing you thousands of dollars in repair bills, ignoring what seem like minor problems with your AC may end up costing you in the future.

When deciding whether to repair or replace your central air conditioning system, consider its age and energy efficiency rating. Older units tend to break down or require more and more repairs when they reach about seven years old. At this point wear and tear has taken its toll and repairs may be nothing more than patch work.

After about five years, energy efficiency starts to slip. Repairs are justifiable within five years, but if energy efficiency is a concern, upgrading is usually helpful. Also consider the condition of the unit. If you're unit requires repairs on a monthly or bi-monthly basis no matter what its age, installing a new AC may be your best option. If your AC is in great condition save for one small problem, a repair should be sufficient.

If your AC compressor suddenly breaks down or you're having Freon problems or your air conditioner just isn't providing you with optimal comfort, do not attempt to fix the problem yourself. Doing so may void your manufacturer's warranty or in some cases could result in serious injury. Our trained technicians offer same day service so you're not sitting in a warm home for any longer than you have to.
